Veteran NBA player to visit WVU Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic

The West Virginia University community is pleased to welcome veteran NBA player Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to campus Friday, March 3 at 3:30 p.m. in the Applied Human Sciences Building, Room G-06. The event is intended for individuals and families of those with a fluency disorder to meet and talk with Kidd-Gilchrist and learn from his inspirational journey.

As a person who stutters, Kidd-Gilchrist is an ambassador to the stuttering community. In 2021, he founded Change & Impact, Inc. a stuttering initiative with a mission to improve access to health care and expand services and resources for those who stutter.

Specialists at the WVU Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic are trained to diagnose, treat and monitor a variety of disorders. The state-of-the-art facility has the most up-to-date advancements to increase access for patients throughout the community.
