The IMPACT WV Learning Portal is an online clearing house for training and resources to help educate families and providers on the effects of substance use on the family unit and child development. IMPACT WV is continuing to strengthen a training collaborative that includes information delivered through multiple formats for a variety of audiences and includes learning modules, certified training site, national training initiative, and skills education page, along with archived communities of practices and printable summary sheets.

Trainings for women, their partners and families, and providers will also be available focusing on overprescribing opioids in pregnancy, effective contraception plans, and psychosocial needs of women during this time for their substance use and/or recovery.

    The Brazelton Touchpoints Center has certified the IMPACT WV program at the CED as a Brazelton Touchpoints Training Site to make training opportunities available to the state’s community of family-facing providers. Offering the new trainings will help support West Virginia families in recovery and their children who have experienced prenatal exposure.

  • Project SCOPE

    Project SCOPE is a national training initiative intended to build provider capacity and confidence in applying evidence-based practices in screening, monitoring, and interdisciplinary support for children and families diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) or neonatal opiate withdrawal syndrome (NOWS), or who are suspected of being impacted by opioid use and related trauma exposure.
