How to get an appointment

1. To request an appointment, please click the "Get Services from the CED" button below or call the CED at 304-293-4692 and request an appointment for pediatric occupational therapy. The coordinator will ask a few questions so the therapist can prepare for the evaluation.

2. An evaluation date and time will be confirmed with a follow-up call and/or email as a reminder.

Day of clinic visit

When you arrive, follow the CED Visitor sign to park in the top parking lot. The WVU CED is the middle building of the three tan buildings.

The clinical coordinator will inform the occupational therapist that you have arrived. A team member will meet you and guide you downstairs to the clinic room where the evaluation will take place.

Evaluations typically take one hour to complete. Each evaluation is unique based on the barriers identified from the pre-evaluation questions. Please be prepared to answer follow-up questions and interact with different activities throughout the evaluation. The therapist will complete their evaluation, and the visit will end with a wrap up and recommendations for devices.

What to expect after visit

Within 10 days, you will receive a written summary of the evaluation which will include home programming, community recommendations and other information specific to your needs as appropriate. Follow-up visits will be scheduled as needed based on evaluation information.
