Behavior Specialist/Clinical Associate
The Positive Behavior Support Project is currently hiring a Behavior Specialist/Clinical Associate. The role will be to apply an intensive and comprehensive consultation and training model throughout WV for individuals who have a developmental disability or a traumatic brain injury and who have challenging behaviors. Activities will include promoting and accepting referrals; providing consulting and assessment activities; developing and providing training; facilitating groups using graphics to develop person-centered plans; developing written materials including functional assessments, recommendations and support plans. This position requires a Masters degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field. The candidate should have at least two years experience working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, mental illness, Autism or other developmental disabilities. The candidate should have knowledge of behavioral principles and experience in their application. Qualified candidates will have an expression of a person-centered values base consistent with the project's values and goals. Applicants need the ability to travel as demonstrated by a valid driver's license or an alternate efficient means of transportation to parts of the state not accessible by public transportation. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position located in Berkeley Springs, WV based on an annual salary range of $37,500 - $39,900, depending on experience, plus 26% WVU Fringe Benefit Plan. Vocational Assessment Specialist (VAS)
The Vocational Assessment Specialist (VAS) reports to the Program Manager (WV WORKS Vocational Assessment Program) with program responsibilities to Logan, Boone, Kanawha, Putnam, Mason, Jackson and Roane counties. The VAS will provide vocational testing and assessment to individuals with disabilities or medical conditions who are currently enrolled in the state Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program called WV WORKS. The VAS conducts short-term specific functional vocational testing and produces a vocational assessment, listing potential employment/vocational options. He/she also works in tandem with regional Department of Health and Human Resources TANF case managers. A Master's degree is required in the human services field of study. Applicant must have: 1) Basic math skills, with an emphasis on problem solving; 2) Deductive ability with analytical thinking and creative problem solving skills; 3) Interviewing skills; 4) Knowledge of functional assessment testing instruments with ability to administer tests and interpret results; 5) Knowledge of medical terminology and awareness of cultural and political issues pertaining to various populations and to various disabilities; and 6) Ability to travel extensively to parts of the state not accessible by public transportation. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position located in Charleston, WV based on an annual salary range of $35,016 to $36,720, depending on experience, plus 26% WVU Fringe Benefit Plan. Administrative Assistant
The Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of WVU is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED). The successful candidate will assist the Director by performing a variety of administrative tasks using self-initiative to carry out the duties and responsibilities. Incumbent is required to oversee, maintain and modify internal office infrastructure to insure that institutional policies and procedures impacting CED are fulfilled. Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, and one year of clerical or business office experience, and working knowledge of grants and contracts. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. WVU offers an excellent benefits package.
