  1. The CED's Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (MIG) was refunded for another two years. The program goals focus on Work Incentives and Employment, Effective Supported Employment Programs, Ticket to Work and Employment Network Development and Medicaid Buy-In and Personal Care Services.   2. The CED is a partner in a new grant, the West Virginia Family to Family (F2F) Health Information Center. This program is part of a national information network for families of children and youth with special health care needs. The Center provides help for families who are looking for family-friendly health care information.
    The goal of the Center is to improve health care and health care supports throughout West Virginia for children with developmental delays, chronic illnesses and special needs by empowering families to advocate for their children and youth. The statewide Health Information Center reflects a family-directed focus.
    The Center is a partnership between West Virginia Parent Training Information, Inc. and the Center for Excellence in Disabilities at West Virginia University. For more information, call Todd Rundle at 304-293-4692 x 1141 or e-mail him at trundle@hsc.wvu.edu


  3. WV AgrAbility was the selected host for the 2010 National AgrAbility Training Workshop by the National Project. The Conference will be held October 11-14, 2010 in Charleston.   4. WVATS and MIG are partnering to give every eleventh grader receiving a special education a copy of their booklet "Transition Through School and Into Life: A Handbook for Students and Parents". This booklet is part of a series of booklets including "Everyone Can Work," "Everyone Can Learn," "Everyone Can Serve".   5. Gateways has completed five regional caucuses and a state summit on coordinated transportation. Regional discussions continue to move this initiative forward. Participants from the five regions, a state senator, and representation from the House Speaker's office attended the state summit to share solutions and develop strategies for legislation and funding. The initiative is moving forward with planning and action by Regional Access Mobility Partnerships across the state. The next goal is to draft a bill , get support, and introduce at 2010 legislative session.   6. The CED's research stipend program provides financial awards to exceptional students for completing projects in collaboration with CED staff or mentors. This year the CED has committed to five competitive and one non-competitive grants. The funded projects are listed below with the student's discipline indicated in parentheses.
