Home Assessments and Assistive Technology

As a part of a special 'Taking Charge' pilot program, seniors in Braxton, Greenbrier, Marion, Marshall, McDowell and Summers counties may be eligible for a free home assessment to help identify:

Through local senior centers and other networks, Taking Charge will provide seniors with assistive technology that can help accomodate low vision, decreased mobility, and other limitations. Assistive Technology assists with daily living tasks, and can help older West Virginians live independently in their own homes.

If you work with seniors in any of these counties who are homeowners, over the age of sixty, and need this type of assistance, please call 800-841-8436 or e-mail takingcharge@hsc.wvu.edu for an application and more information.
