The CED provides training and technical assistance to improve access to a desired quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families. Many CED programs have training components for individuals with disabilities, their family members and caregivers. Please click the links below to learn more about these opportunities.

  • Adjusting the Sails Podcast

    A podcast about the lives and specific challenges children with special healthcare needs and other disabilities face along with their families, caregivers and service providers, and how to manage those challenges.

  • Circle of Parents Support Groups

    Support groups where anyone in a parenting role can openly discuss the successes and challenges of raising children. Weekly virtual options and some in-person options throughout the state available.
  • Disability Awareness Puppets

    Diverse puppet program designed to dispel fears, myths and misconceptions about people with disabilities and to help children understand more about disabilities.

  • Mind the Gap: Parent Education and Support Group

    Monthly group offers guidance and support for families who have a child on a waitlist for autism evaluations or services. Parents who are concerned their child is showing signs of autism spectrum disorder are also welcome to join and learn more. In-person and virtual options available.

  • PBS for Parents Training

    A free, self-paced online course that provides the opportunity to identify the ABC’s of behavior, learn strategies for teaching replacement behaviors, and define coping methods to improve your child’s quality of life.

  • Resources for Children and Families

    View multiple statewide resources for individuals with disabilities and their families.
  • Triple P Online Seminars

    Free virtual three-part webinar series offered multiple times throughout the year for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities who are up to 12 years old. Provides general information about promoting child development.
  • WIPA/Employment Training

    Video trainings outlining work incentives available for people who want to work while receiving Social Security disability benefits.
