IMPACT WV has added new online training modules on the topics of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS), Family Strengthening, and Parent Support.

Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) - The Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) Module will provide information about what to do before baby is born, how to care for babies at risk for NAS, provide advice on feeding, sleeping, and bonding with babies with NAS, along with ways to keep calm when taking baby home.

Family Strengthening - This module will define protective factors, discuss ideas to support resiliency in families, discuss the use of a parallel process through reflective practice, discuss services from a relational perspective, and provide resources and links to use when discussing strength-based practices.

Parent Support - This module defines and describes the importance of Social and Parent Support, barriers to accessing social support systems and identifies family support services and resources.

These modules can be taken any time from anywhere. Don't have time to get them all done at once? No problem, you can complete one module at a time and come back and finish later.

Courses are available for both families and providers. Free Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for Nursing, Social Work, STARS, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and WV Addiction & Prevention Professionals. A $25 processing fee is required to earn Continuing Medical Education (CME).
