Alive to Thrive Day 2026

Join the MoCrazy Strong Brain Injury Foundation and the WV Traumatic Brain Injury Services program on January 22–23, 2026 at Canaan Valley Resort for Alive to Thrive, a welcoming weekend of adaptive skiing, peer connection, and practical brain-injury support.
Designed for people with traumatic brain injury (TBI), their families, rehabilitation professionals, students, and community partners, the weekend pairs accessible on-snow instruction (with Challenged Athletes of WV and WVU Physical Therapy students) and fun social activities (snow-tubing, an evening film + keynote) with a one-day professional CEU TBI conference: Pushing the Peak: Elevating Brain Injury Science and Support.
Event Schedule
Wednesday, Jan 21: Travel & arrival

AM: Out-of-state teams (TWFF, MoCrazy, participants) depart/arrive Morgantown; optional sponsor visits/photos.

12:00 pm: Travel to Canaan Valley Resort.

3:00 pm: Check in at resort. Logistics meeting with staff/volunteers.

6:00 pm: Group dinner (welcome + orientation).
Thursday, Jan 22: Ski day + evening program

8:00–9:00 am: Breakfast / check equipment.

9:00 am: Gather in lodge; participant check-in & pairing with CAWV instructors/assistants.

9:30 am: On-hill sessions begin (adaptive support provided).

1:00 pm: Lunch (on hill / lodge).

2:00–4:00 pm: Afternoon ski sessions continue.

4:30 pm: Gentle restorative session — Yoga with Fruit (Grace Mauzy).

6:00 pm: Dinner + informal social time.
Friday, Jan 23: Ski morning + CEU conference & evening

8:00–9:00 am: Breakfast / pack up as needed.

9:00 am: Meet in lodge for morning ski check-in.

9:30 am–12:00 pm: Morning ski sessions.

12:00–1:00 pm: Lunch (working or sponsored lunch possible).

1:00–3:00 pm: Afternoon ski wrap up; return to lodge by 3:00 pm.

3:00–6:30 pm: Professional CEU program (see schedule below).

5:15–5:30 pm: Short sponsor remarks (Toyota).

5:30–6:30 pm: Movie screening + keynote (Jamie) — followed by social.
